FAQ’s

  • A microschool is a small personalized learning environment with a low student-teacher ratio, allowing for individualized academic and social support.

  • We educate students in grades K-5 (5-11 years old).

  • The school hours are 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. because the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that school starts no earlier than 8:30 a.m. for middle and higher schoolers. Therefore, we would like to follow the same recommendation as research suggests that at least 60% of students are afforded the opportunity to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep.

  • Before-school care begins 30 minutes before the academic hours, and after-school care lasts up to 3 hours beyond the school day.

  • We offer two schedules with one focus: nurturing curious minds. The full-time schedule has a traditional format, with students attending school Monday through Friday. The part-time schedule has students attending Tuesday through Thursday. To accommodate flexible scheduling, we offer personalized tuition.

  • Our academics are aligned with Florida standards. This helps students feel confident and less stressed if they transition from or to a public school in Florida.

  • Non-refundable and Tuition Fees:

    • Non-refundable application fee: $50

    • Non-refundable enrollment fee: $150

    • Full-time tuition fee: $12,000 yearly ($1,200 monthly)

    • Part-time tuition fee: $10,000 yearly ($1,000 monthly)

    • Cubs Cruiser fee: $200 monthly (one-way per family)

    • Cubs Cruiser fee: $350 monthly (two-way per family)

    • Extended Cubs Care fee: $100 monthly (morning); $50 for CCP riders

    • Extended Cubs Care fee: $200 monthly (afternoon); $150 for CCP riders

    • Extended Cubs Care fee: $300 monthly (morning and afternoon); $200 for CCP riders

    Monthly Savings:

    • $100 savings for one-sibling

    • $50 or $100 savings for Extended Cubs Care who are CCP riders

    • $100 savings for teachers, nurses, firefighters, police officers, military members

Families are encouraged to apply for the Step Up For Students scholarship which may help offset or reduce tuition expenses.

  • Please use the Step Up For Students link to apply for a scholarship. There is no maximum income limit for families in Florida. All K-12 students are eligible to apply. You may receive a response if qualified within minutes of submitted your application. Also, while there is no income limit, the SUFS scholarship program does use a tiered priority system for funding:

    • Priority 1: Renewal students, children in foster or out-of-home care, and families earning at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level.

    • Priority 2: Families earning between 185% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level.

    • Non-Priority: Families earning above 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (though these students are still eligible and encouraged to apply, as scholarships are awarded based on demand).
